Mattify Oily Skin

Facial oil, or sebum, is produced from the sebaceous glands to protect and provide a barrier on the skin. Although oil production is necessary, excessive oil production can be difficult to deal with and maintain. Many of today’s mattifying products will help to eliminate and absorb excess oil that is being produced.

Jane Iredale PureMatte Finish Powder is great under or over a mineral makeup base to help slow oil during the day and keep you shine-free. This product can be used alone or with your regular makeup products, and can be reapplied throughout the day as necessary.

Sun protection during the day is vital for all skin types. Using a mattifying sunscreen is great for oily skin to avoid that greasy feeling that many sunscreens have. DDF Matte Finish Photo-Age Protection SPF 30 is oil-free, and absorbs easily to provide an excellent barrier against sun damage. Not only does this protect against photo-damage, it contains 11 antioxidants to fight free radical damage.

Corn starch is a great active ingredient to absorb excess oil that accumulates on the face during the day. Aroma Purete – Matifying Powdered Blotting Papers from Decleor utilize this unique ingredient to remove unwanted oil as well as provide a powder base to the skin to reduce oil production.
